Pat McGrath Spring 2011 Beauty Trends

So, I love this lady.

^This lady right here^

She is everything I wish to be and more.

Ms. Pat gives me so much hope that I can also be one of the TOP makeup artists working for clients like Dior, Vogue, Louis Vuitton and D&G just to name a few. Ms.Pat is a self taught artist and just goes with her instincts; she has CREATED plastic makeup and the most beautiful looks anyone has ever seen down the runway. At 41, you have to have some serious RESPECT for this woman.
She goes hard.

Pat mentioned the possible trends in makeup we ought to look out for this Spring. These are the looks she created for Dior's Spring 2011 collection:

-Matte Eyeshadow

-Bold Lips in Fuschia, Red, and hot, hot Pinks

-Very 1940's, vintage inspired cat eyeliner with a fusion of 1980's hot colors

-Thick, lightly colored brows

"It's a return to that old-fashioned sense of glamour,"
- McGrath.

I'm more of a neutral girl myself, but I may take a swing on this look when I head out to fashions shows and what not.

Wednesday Inspiration: Maya Guez

Here's someone you should know:
Ms. Maya Guez featured in Krave Magazine.

I have been watching this woman for YEARS. I noticed her back in the myspace days, around 2003 maybe. Her work is so AMAZING! What caught my eye about her was how she makes the colors so rich in each photo, the concepts are so bold, strong and visually stimulating, the models looked so regal and so unbeliveably beautiful and I really love that she works with ALL TYPES of models. I really love her style and she is so beautiful herself.

Not only is she a photographer, but she models in her own work from time to time, she does makeup for her shoots and even creates the settings and backdrops for her shoots as well. She is a real SUPER Woman. I am so proud of her and how she respresents herself, I have nothing but the utmost respect for this woman.

Nuri Kharah

Nuri Kharah is a very cool photographer! She has a good spirit, she's very kind, and she has a really genuine passion for photography.

The first time I worked with her was this past summer. We found each other on facebook then decided to do a test shoot with a friend of mine, Jonilyn, in Millenium Park. It turned out really cute and we all worked very quickly together! When Nuri knows what she wants, she shoots it and she's done. Nuri wastes no time and edits her photos very fast!

We got to work together again a January 2nd, 2011 with model Aneta and her husband.
Aneta was a really great model! While I was doing her makeup, we got to talk about her marriage, her career, Nuri's wedding dress, a lot of random topics!

Here are a few shots from the shoot. These came out so cute!

Wednesday Inspiration: DashDot

I'm always on modelmayhem looking for new talent, watching familiar talent, always watching make up artists, photographers, models, and artsy people. Here's someone you should know:

Photographer: DashDot
Website: http://www.dashdot.nl/

Dashdot is from the Netherlands and her work is GORGEOUS. Her work makes me think of cotton candy, fuzzy dreams and happy places; her work also makes me feel very comfortable, like my eyes are resting on imaginary photoshop pillows. Here's a few samples.
So inspiring!
