MOD Magazine | The ART Issue

You have no idea how excited I am to show you the amazing collaboration between Jennifer Avello, Astrowifey, Kat of Factor Women and myself that took place in August of last year! The images have been released in the new March/April issue of Mod Magazine.

I created face charts for each look and took on the role as an art director. Jennifer and I discussed the lighting, the poses, the expressions, the hair styling, every little possible thing involved in the shoot to make the story look cohesive from image to image.

The "Color Play" beauty editorial was inspired by my roots: Art.

For those of you who don't know, I started off as an oil painter and sketch artist when I was a child. I always painted faces, portraits, women with makeup; and this was way before I knew I wanted to be a makeup artist.

So I literally combined my old art work techniques with new makeup techniques to create a fresh story for Mod Magazine. I worked with MAC Acrylic Paint, MAC Lip Mix, OCC Lip Tar, Maybelline Mascara, Inglot Pigments, Inglot gel liners, gold leaf, mixing mediums; anything I could get my hands on to create the looks.

Our model for the day, Kat, was sooooo amazing! Jennifer Avello worked with a new macro lens and captured amazing angles of our model.

Nail Tech, Astrowifey, snapped off and worked with nail polishes like Butter London to create amazing nail art. I was, and still am, beyond excited to see this story finally come to fruition.

Factor Artists 2014

I just signed with Factor Artists last week.
Today, my comp cards and portfolio are now live!

I decided to join with Factor Artists because they expressed how much they loved my work but they wanted to push me to be a better artist with even stronger work. I appreciate when people encourage me to be my best, so I am going to take a chance with them and see how this goes for the next year. I also noticed how the artists they represent have amazing work. I am always pushing my self to go higher and to be better so it felt like a perfect fit.

I am also represented by Black Board Group in Los Angeles and New York.

My goal this year was to travel more often and gain new clients all around America, so I hope to continue to jet set to new places for new jobs in 2014. I'll keep you updated on my whereabouts and my latest work very soon!
