Chicago Artist Studios

If you haven't heard by now, myself and photographer Ten Photos teamed up to create a new, creative space for photographers and artists to rent at a reasonable rate called

The idea of "Chicago Artist Studios" came about when we noticed a lot of photographers and artists leaving and moving away from Chicago due to a lack of comradery amongst artists and lack of opportunity in Chicago. There are actually really great opportunities and work in Chicago but if no one talks about it, unfortunately no one knows about it. There's also an issue when the photographer or artist comes back to Chicago, they usually have no place to set up and work for their clients.  There are very little to no studio spaces available for hourly rentals in Chicago, so we wanted to change things up and create one. We want to break the barrier and link makeup artists with photographers, photographers with models, models with hair stylists, and hair/makeup artists with the agencies in Chicago.

Our mission is to help photographers, agencies and artists not only in Chicago but to also help artists from all around the Midwest who need a space to rent so they can effectively work on their job, project, event, or photoshoot in a professional atmosphere.  We will also host exclusive events and team up with some of the most innovative nail artists, makeup artists and hair stylists for education classes and networking parties. We want to branch out and create opportunities by connecting the top model agencies in Chicago with some of the best photographers and artists in the Midwest.

We hope Chicago Artist Studios will create more networking, relationship building and unity between all the artists in Chicago.

We hosted our Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, February 13th, 2016.  Our food was catered by Oh! Chefs. Here are a few photos from our event, there are many more on our website:

If you are a photographer or artist in the Midwest, don't hesitate to contact us. We welcome all artists to use our space. There will be more events coming very soon, check the blog on our website to stay updated on the latest:

Beauty Bliss | Profiles98 Magazine Beauty Issue

New work inside The Beauty Issue of Profiles98 Magazine

My makeup style was inspired by oil painter Peter Frederiksen, he created the backdrops for our story. I used pastel, spring colors from MAC to keep everything soft and feminine.

Room 401 | GlassBook

Room 401 | Editorial for glass-book.com

This was a fun editorial to work on! I had the chance to work with Inglot products on the beautiful Echo Nittolitto and Agency Galatea model, Todd Hansen.

Echo is AMAZING! Once makeup and hair was complete, she completely transformed and goes into character quickly. Loved working with her! Todd was such a gentleman, even when Echo grinded her 6 inch spike heels into his legs, Todd never complained! Room 401 was a story created by my dear friend and phenomenal photographer Jennifer Avello about love, lust and letting go of your desires. Here is the rest of the story:

Photographer + Editor | Jennifer Avello
Models | Echo Nittolitto + Todd Hansen of Agency Galatea
Hair + Makeup | Andrea C. Samuels of The Rock Agency
Wardrobe for Echo | Jacki Debb of Factor Artists Emerging
Wardrobe for Todd | Michelle Jeremias of My Chicago Stylist

Enjoy!

Hoda Amel Abdalla

I love, love, love Hoda's style.

Hoda Amel Abdalla is a photographer from California and is currently booking new talents for her Chicago book. We found each other via model mayhem, had a chit chat at Starbucks, and created our first photo shoot together.

I decided to try a few new things and get creative on the faces of Eve Rydberg, Clara Wong, Sarah Ferriby and Rhea Fernandez. I'm really pleased with how these came out. I did both nails & makeup for all the shots.
Laila Rojas was the stylist, Malachi Artese provided the eyewear.

More pictures coming VERY soon, but here's a sneak peak:

I used 'Gold Leaf' for the first time. I like the effect!

Just kept it simple with Clara and created a bold, red lip for her.

For Sarah, I kept it light and used white eye shadow, white shimmer, and blocked her brows with white Ben Nye paint.

I wanted to try a little color on Rhea. I loved how the turquoise and green popped on her eyes.

FRITZ

I had the chance to work with up and coming Chicago photographer, Fritz.
He works pretty fast, he knows what he wants, and he gets straight to the point. Which I like a lot.
Here are a few shots from our 5 hour session.

Rhea is so sweet, quiet, professional and she knows her angles well. I LOVE her! We were going for a clean, simple, fresh look with Rhea:
